Tears of Hope

From late March 2021 to September first, 2021 I went out three times during the pandemic, and twice was a walk with masks. This was for the safety of others. I had purchased cloth masks before the government announced because my daughter liked the looks of the masks and they weren't hospital masks. I wrote one novella during that time, and I cried for people I don't know.

There was never boredom. Revising books are like living in novels.

Things I have done:

1.I've taken care of my teens.

2.Wrote less, and I have edited more. I wrote two poetry ebooks and created the cover art.

3.Read books on editing. I'm learning disabled and editing has always been out of reach for me.

2001

1.Rewrote books.

2.Read the worst book in the world. It was published over a hundred years ago. So many author users and BookTubers claim this or that book is the worst of the year, but none of them have read a horrendous novel.

Why I Quit Acting: My big regret

Everyone has things they regret. What is your biggest regret? I do not regret quitting acting. What a lot of people don't know about me is that I once wanted to be a stage actress and a writer. I did become a published writer. I got my first professional acting gig when I was 21 turning 22. I'm talking about this because I honestly feel bad about my first and only acting job. No one knows this about me except myself and my family. I really needed the money, and loved meeting other working actors. Most of the cast were very kind. I never knew what I was in for when I showed up. I was accepted on the spot. I was nice to everyone but hated the production and asked a lot of questions. I found it offensive, poorly written, and historically incorrect and was given a part I had no right to play but I still performed until the end of the season. There was also sexual harassment that went on in that production with one of the leads which he directed at several of my coworkers. He would even say uncomfortable things to me though I wasn't his 'target' and even tried to bring strippers to a work party. I realized that I wasn't good enough for the off-broadway musical productions I really wanted to be in that I could only get jobs that were like this. The Theater acting had lost any joy for me. One day I might want to return to musical theater, but take the advice of my drama teacher who told us there were more jobs in the crew. As a subtly disabled woman from the USA.. I have no problem with people who are without disabilities who portray people like me on the screen. I just don't feel taking those types of roles are right for me. I am not judging what other actors choose to do.

Reasons to Quit Netflix I

Reasons to Quit Netflix

Ask a Zombie Housewife

I used to love Netflix but quit last year in a fit of anger.
1. You can get streaming services cheaper, Hulu and Disney plus are cheaper. If you want a package for adults and family, the Hulu Disney plus package is an amazing deal. Right now we are doing just Disney Plus. Our favorite Hulu show is on hiatus for a year so we might buy it again when it is back on the air. We only did Hulu for a year because we decided to quite netflix a year early. Youtube is free. the college station BYU TV streams for free has shockingly good shows like Studio C, Showoffs, and Random Acts.

2. Red band trailers on youtube. My first angry issue is the red band trailer the Babysitter in my recommended movie trailers. I had thought it was a children's movie. I didn't need to put my youtube on restricted mode before that because we knew what content to avoid. Just because I watch forensic files every once in a while does not mean I want to see

3. Not giving good shows an ending. I quickly fell in love with the Good Cop and Netflix should have at least given us three more shows to tie it all together. Nothing is worse than a channel that doesn't give you an ending. (This why I quit net flix.)

  4. Not enough family-friendly content that is not children's shows. Family-friendly is not the same as a kid's show. Amazon prime doesn't have enough family-friendly content, but I do Amazon Prime for packages and music, not for movies. Their shows are a bonus and they have a few shows I like.

update, Promote your Ebook for Free

Update:

I have been busy lately updating a new website, working on a new old book series. My book was written in late 2000 and early 2001. My publisher and I parted ways and I am rewriting the book. I have decided I am not having Halloween party this year. We are going to be doing a home-based fall activity like making candy apples or making cider.

Post your ebook add in the comment section. This is a free service I give to authors I am doing this because ebook promotion can be expensive and I never really forgot what it was like when all the PR seemed out of reach for me.

1. The ebook must be $5 AND UNDER unless it is from a major publisher.

2. No porn or erotica, please.

3. A link to your book that is on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, or Hoopla.

4. You do not need reviews yet. Some writers are untested. If you do have a review of your post it.

5. Do not add a link to any book reviews that you paid for in your promotion.

6. Ebook types that work best for my audience, YA, middle-grade reader, self-help, nonfiction graphic novels, clean romance, cozy mystery, clean sci-fi.

7. A series of ebooks should be in one post but if it is a separate series that can go in another post.

Happy Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July

In the States, we celebrate the fourth of July I am spending time with my little family today just hanging out. We also plan to work on our creative projects, eat good food, play app games today and maybe watch a movie. Our internet went down and I found old stories looking for a movie. I have been working on a book, but I also need to work on my herb garden.

Super Bowl Ads 2019

Book Review
Make It, Bake it, Sew it or Grow it By Kate Singh
Review Unicorn Frugality
A very inspiring way to look at simplicity and going back to old fashioned homemaking, frugality and thrift. Why we should learn from the great depression.
Its about Kate's Start of her Journey on reducing her costs by making things herself.
My husband and I have been into DIY a lot lately. The book is short and sweet.
I would have finished it in an evening but I had other things to do so it took two days.
Its also super cheap. None of Kate's books are over $2.00.
I cannot wait till Kate's Next Book.

Super Bowl Ads 2019

Ask A Zombie Housewife

I don't blame the half time show. The bands are good but they usually have poor sound quality
and limited things you can do with the time

The ads are my favorite part of the super Bowl.

Usually the super bowl has some amazing ads but this super bowl had more boring ads than Usual.
When Devore foods isn't your worst Advert your in trouble.

Ones I loved. Planters, M&Ms and Pringles at least they had some humor. I don't drink Alcohol but the bud light ones were good. I wanted to eat Pringles, M&Ms and Planters.
NFL 100 was a great one.

Microsoft and Amazon both did amazing ads even though I saw the Microsoft ones before.

I don't drink soda regularly I aim for once or twice a month b or sometimes once every couple of months but the Pepsi Okay advert did make me want to buy a caffeine free diet Pepsi. My dad when he was alive loved diet Pepsi. It drive would him crazy when restaurants didn't offer it.

The coke ad was cute but not memorable it was just Okay.

The worst of the worst: the one with the mermaids and spiked water. (I am not putting the name up on purpose. It was so bad.)

Bad Bad ad: Devore Frozen foods. It wasn't charming it was creepy, depressing and boring. It made me not want to eat frozen food.

Semi Bad: Captain Marvel (I am sure the movie is awesome but the trailer was cut weird and the voice over annoying.)
Infact most of the movie trailers were just bad only the Handmaid's Tale looked interesting and I don't watch mature shows. (Hulu Pg 14 cut pretty please)

Only semi Okay: Stella Artois it was almost cute but not super bowl worthy. It felt like.

New Year Book Challange and The Big Frugailty Issue

My Ten book New Year Challenge
Ask A zombie Housewife
A lot of people fail new years goals because they are two big and not fun. If I would have said I am reading 200 books this year I would of failed. I wouldn't have gotten past four books. If you want to do the challenge.
The rules were
1. The books could be unfinished books from last year.
2. They could be really short nonfiction books. I had been putting off reading books about raising chickens "for eggs" for over six months maybe longer. I realized I probably don't want to raise chickens because I don't think I could put non egg layers down. Though I do know I could probably raise a couple of chickens if I needed to. The shortest book I read was 11 pages it was very useful self help book but it could have used a couple extra pages.
3. I could have read them last year and reread them.
4. Unfinished books don't count. One ebook was this book on yoga and it wasn't bad but it didn't move me to read more.
5. Picture books could count but board books wouldn't. They had to be deeper thought books. (Though none of the books I counted were picture books.) Meet the Frugal Woods
6. Cookbooks counted anything that made me a better person counted.

The Big Frugality Issue

My No/low Spend Weeks
Ask A Zombie Housewife
I do a no/low spend weeks or month at least once a year for the past three or four years. Though I had a lot of no spend months when I was younger. That wasn't by choice. I have something called mad/fun money and its my personal spending money for the year. I can add to it if I sell a story or some of my artwork. No spends are not gimmicks with me. I do them to stretch my fun money out.
It also lets me contemplate my blessings and the feelings that I have enough.
Last no spend month. I gave homemade gifts, babysat as gifts and learned to make my own laundry soap. I am frugal by choice. I extended way past that I needed too.
This year I am trying more for less. I am doing one week of no personal spending. Then if I can I extend it a week or two. I use reward points to buy things. I earned digital money by choosing slow shipping on Amazon.com and buy ebooks with it. I did spend a little much after my no spend but I had to buy gifts for people and buy new used clothes. (Not part of my fun money but a needed expense because I hadn't bought clothes for myself in over a year and I lost the weight I gained.)
I am going to have shorter low spends through out the year. My low spend this week is Tuesday to Friday. Monday I needed to buy a thermos because I could only find broken ones in the thrift store so it had to come out of my fun money as a gift to a family member . I am planning a low/spend
week next week then I am going to spend

Why Frugality is important for Everyone "including the rich, poor and upper middle class"
By Unicorn Frugality

40% of Americans are just one pay check away from poverty. About %25 of people who make over 100,000 are struggling. Its even higher with millennials who make a good living even though Millennials are more frugal housing costs, student loans and not documenting.
I am not an extreme frugality person I am a selective frugality, and a value green person.
The frugality is just the tool I use to get green. Its the tool I use to buy the things that are more meaningful to me. I would rather buy books than shoes and fancy purses and have good reasonably priced food and nice kitchen gadgets.

1. A frugal person has more money to give to the charities and people who need it.
2. Frugality is greener and more eco friendly. Reusable items cost less are more elegant than disposables. That doesn't mean I am zero waste. When my kitchen needed to be redone I used disposables but reusables are cheaper and I even have reusable straws.
3. Being Frugal doesn't mean you never can go to Disneyland. It means your going to save for it.
4. Being frugal means having a retirement plan.
5. Being Frugal means being abundant. The true masters of Abundance spend less than they earn and give to charity.

Book Ebook Reviews: Frugality
Unicorn Frugality
I have amassed a good sized frugality, homemaking eco friendly book and ebook collection. There is always something I disagree with in frugality books even the ones I really recommend.

I bought used frugality books. I supported the writer if they also sold inexpensive for sale ebooks.
I bought the Frugal woods on Sale and part of that was digital gift code I had. I bought Kate Singh's ebook Living on One Income on one of her free sales on Amazon.com. I have bought several of her ebooks with money because they are cheap and inspirational. Frugalwoods speaks from someone who is upper middle class/wealthy person who saves to stop working the job she hates and retire to work at home jobs and motherhood. Both these points are different but valued.

Right now I am being more Frugal. I still buy things, food, clothes for the kids, art. My husband has a good job but frugality sets a huge safety net, and lets us live magically greener, be able to give.
It also affords to indulge in our hobbies. My husband's hobby is cooking and mine is writing and being green.

Review One Living one Income a Simple Guide to making it Work Kate Singh
I love Kate Singh's books. The ebooks have a lot of good tips for beginners even those like me who been frugal for a while will find it inspiring. Though I did find a tip or two I plan to use. Her writing makes you want to be frugal and make it sound magical, homespun and romantic. Even when her books aren't on sale they are pretty cheap.
The only thing really I disagree with this ebook is co sleeping. I felt safer having my babies in their own basinet in my room for the first few months.
There also couple of books on her book list that are not have not liked as much as hers.
I agree with her not to bath a baby in the sink or tub. I agree with her frugality can be beautiful and you can live well on less. I agree that home should a joyful place so you will want to spend more time in it instead of wasting money.
This ebook is full of the Life Kate lives. Its like listening to a real friend and I recommend people buying this book. Even though some subjects overlap the inspiration is well worth it. I think anyone who is embarking on being frugal or being a frugal homemaker, doing the Dave Ramsey Program, or going through a job loss or just wanting to spend less. You should buy at least three Kate Singh ebooks. They are pretty cheap inspiration.
She teaches you in this Ebook:
1. How to build savings one Penny at a Time. I have always believed people go broke on little things.
2. I am going to try use a bucket to catch water in the shower while it heats up for the garden. It will do two thing not waste.
3. I don't have pets but she has tips to save money on that too.
4. Even though its a short book its not like those cheapy frugality rip off books with no real content.
Its full of content.

Meet the Frugalwoods
Elizabeth Willard Thames
I recommend this book as well. It is a fast read and enjoyable. Its more a biography than a frugality book. I put it in my inspiring I hope she does put out of a frugality book though much of those tips can be found on her blog. I absolutely love her blog. I love this book as well. I bought when the ebook went on sale.
There have been some not kind reviews which I don't feel are completely honest or they misunderstood what they read.
Mrs. Frugalwoods never claimed to do what she did on a modest income. She has always stated she and her husband made good money. She said she didn't make as much as an investment banker. Which is the wealth that she worked around when she worked for a non profit. I don't think she owes it to me or anyone else how much she makes.
She comes off as thoughtful and very knowledgeable of her privilege.
Some people think her saving was extreme. Her upscale trash picking would give Amy Dacycyn a run for her money. A middle class person could find use of her advice its just going to take longer than two years.

Cooking Myths

Myth: Why Millennials Cant Cook
I read an Article based on another article. The first article stated millennials can't cook because the internet. It's not. YouTube is not dumbing down cooking skills.
Many people are visual learners when it comes to cooking.
Many Millennials do know how to cook because someone in their family taught them.
The reason is Millennials are having difficulty cook is because they got rid of home ec. My family refused to teach me to cook or wasn't interested in teaching me. Without my home ech teacher. I would have been helpless. While I didn't turn into a master chef I learned basics I couldn't learn from a book. I had lots of cookbooks as a child. I had a small collection. Cookbooks are great if you already have the skills. Getting rid of Home ec. is not female empoerment it just makes sure men don't know how to cook. Making women the only one I the house that can cook.

Thankful List

What are you thankful for? Here is my list.

Have a list of what you a thankful for

God, family, air, water

sleep, love, art,

Graphic novels, happy news, joy,

Art supplies, music, rain

Everything else

Life Clutter: Cut it Out

There physical clutter papers, and items we don't use. There is also time wasting, clutter.

1. Negative News its okay to be informed but if you find yourself but is news taking to much of your time.

2. TV shows that make you feel bad. Yes the show might have great acting, but sometimes we confuse adrenaline with good writing. If a TV show makes you feel bad about your body, your soul its time to toss this life clutter.

3. Message boards if you find yourself spending hours reading negative or write negative comments its time to do something else.

4. Cut out shopping for therapy. There is no such thing as retail therapy. Shopping can be fun but it should never replace real connections, Shopping to make yourself feel better when your sad makes you more sad in the long run. If you are going to spend the money do so on activities like a museum.

How To Save Up For An American Girl Doll, I18 Inch Dolls, Laundry Soap Dilemma,

American Girl Doll Note

This is how to save up for up for an American Girl Doll from the real prince club.

We love the real prince club. Its clean videos that are for families. They do doll sketch comedy,

art, speed draws, tips on making money to buy dolls, crafts, toy thrift hauls.

18 Inch Dolls

The American Girl doll in our house is a second hand doll that my mom, sister and I bought together.

I was going to buy by myself but my Mom and Sister wanted this to be a Family gift.

Secondhand is the way to go.

I personally prefer Our Generation and walmarts My life dolls. The only difference between Our generation and American girl doll is American girl dolls have much better hair. Our generation is a sturdier doll other wise. Our generation deluxe dolls come with the books and some accessories. If you decide you have to have American Girl doll get accessories from Walmart or have your kids make their own. Making fruit stands and cupcake shops can be a lot of fun.

We have a journey girl doll it has an amazing face but wish it would blink. The doll is a great looking doll.

Laundry Soap Dilemma

Why Powdered laundry soap isn't that good a Deal or good for the Earth

You would think that powdered soap is cheaper more earth friendly but its not.

Just because it cost less it doesn't mean its cheaper.

Powdered soap often doesn't dissolve well so I often have to do a load of laundry twice or sometimes three times when I use it. I can not just do a light cycle in cold water.

I am on the hunt for a good cheap liquid laundry soap I can find in bulk.

Halo Top Review

Halo Top Review

Askazombiehousewife

We tried Rainbow Swirl and Cinnamon Roll These were by far the best flavors of Halo Top I have tried so Far.

They are really amazingly good better than most premium ice creams I have had. The cinnamon roll was a trade in because Walmart told my husband they did not have peanut butter cup one of his go to flavors. I hope they get superman or super hero Ice Cream

Christmas

I am already in a Christmas mood and its not even September yet.
I feel like watching the best Christmas movie, the Muppet Christmas carol
And drinking hot chocolate.
I haven't yet, but I did read book about Christmas that I might do a future review. I have Christmas ideas for gifts.
I am not planning a Christmas tree but a Christmas tree.

All kinds of pretty
