Discovery comics, thankful list

You should no longer fear your children reading comics. Discovery comics are educational. They sent a few comic books and I am amazed by the amount of titles.

There is a comic activity guide called operation back yard that teaches composting. One of the titles was a Visit to an Animal hospital which in only 12 pages give extensive information on animal care.

While learning comic books aren't right for every child they can be a nice short way to introduce a subject. Children with autism ADHD and other learning disorders sometimes prefer reading in a comic book forum.

Comic books are a great way for age appropriate learning tools for reluctant reader. Also a discovery comics has jem of a non educational comic called popcorn. Short Graphic Novels like Popcorn are a good way to get kids who hate to read into readers.

Happy Halloween, free ad Day, my thankful post,

Happy Halloween

I worked and uploaded some art today. I wore my Halloween costume to two parties before it disappeared. We had a mini Halloween party at home yesterday as well with candy corn, decorated soda bottles, and Pringles. I don’t buy soda that often. If I buy diet root beer I go through it like water. We mostly do punch. I wanted to decorate the bottles because I have scary labels and then reuse them as hand weights.

I am already in a thanksgiving mood and a Christmas mood. I am planning time the week of thanksgiving. My kids earn prizes from a treasure box. So I bought play money for a dollar last week and the girls are saving the play money for a surprise. I am still not sure I will do this but the kids love the school book fair but hated they could only buy one book. So I will buy some books, pens erasures lay them out with prices and they can buy them at their own book fair.

More ways to save money so you can be the Artist you want to be
1. You can use computer paper for sketch paper if you’re only going to scan your art in a computer. If you’re going to sell the originals than get sketch paper.
2. Get rid of cable and do Netflix which is a lot cheaper. The savings can be used for art supplies.
3. Check prices of graphic tablets via Amazon. Tablets come in all sizes and many different price ranges. Check reviews first some tablets are cheap for a reason.
4. If you’re into handbags instead of expensive ones look at handmade one at Etsy or buy lesser expensive models and embellishing it making your bag a work of art.
5. Use the library to check out books on art technique.
6. Find other artists and mentor each other this is cheaper


Game ideas
Anyone recommend a game that is easy promotes speaking, turn taking and reading. I've been making my own games.
