The Muppet Christmas Carol

I want the Muppet Christmas Carol DVD for Christmas. It’s been the family Christmas movie for years. My lovely DVD got broken. My husband hinted it could be my Christmas gift. Yay!

Now I hear that Disney removed the song when love is gone in new versions. I loved that song. Sniff, Sniff. I still want this movie though. Why do I love the Muppet Christmas Carol?

1. Amazing music by Mr. Williams.

2. Muppets

3. Despite the movies wackiness. The Muppet Christmas Carol actually one of the more faithful adaption’s and keeps much of the beautiful original text.

4. The Genius of putting Dickens as a character to narrate the movie 5. The lessons of generosity and love.

6. It shows personally responsibility of giving not expecting Santa or charities to do it for you.

7. It shows forgiveness.

8. It seamlessly created a world where humans and animals/puppets co exist with believability.

1. Interview other people in your subject matter. If your blog is about children’s books interview children’s book writers, if it’s about artists on Zazzle then you should interview zazzlers.

3. Tweet your blog posts so more people can find out about them.

4. While content is King it’s more than just content. I’ve seen blogs with amazing content have few comments and readers because they aren’t telling people about their blog.

5. Write subjects you find interesting.

6. Imagine your mom or boss reading your blog. Yes there is free speech but free speech doesn’t mean free from consequences. Free speech only deals with government censorship.

News, Encouraging Reading, Toot Your Own Horn, thankful list, contest

News I have lots of new art to post but I've been doing other things. I am in a Thanksgiving mood

Encouraging Reading During the summer I found out one of my kids liked summer book clubs but it was a chanalge navigating them. So I simply came up with my own prices. I chose simple phonics books, and picture books. In the future I might want to reward my chapter. Yes I believe reading should be its own reward but what amount the reluctant reader. Besides prizes find books that match their personality. My sister didn’t start getting into reading until She discovered Jane Austen. In the school year I’ve been doing Afterschooling lately which is part time home school. I throw in another book to read called Mommy Homework. Prizes are from the treasure box. Children love school bookfairs so after we made our purchases I am going to surprise them with their own. All the kids know is there earning Mommy Heart money to buy something. Also reading fun books to them might help them have a love of books.

Happy Halloween, free ad Day, my thankful post,

Happy Halloween

I worked and uploaded some art today. I wore my Halloween costume to two parties before it disappeared. We had a mini Halloween party at home yesterday as well with candy corn, decorated soda bottles, and Pringles. I don’t buy soda that often. If I buy diet root beer I go through it like water. We mostly do punch. I wanted to decorate the bottles because I have scary labels and then reuse them as hand weights.

I am already in a thanksgiving mood and a Christmas mood. I am planning time the week of thanksgiving. My kids earn prizes from a treasure box. So I bought play money for a dollar last week and the girls are saving the play money for a surprise. I am still not sure I will do this but the kids love the school book fair but hated they could only buy one book. So I will buy some books, pens erasures lay them out with prices and they can buy them at their own book fair.

I need to do a thankful post. There is so much I am grateful for. The last two years have been hard but I have been growing as a person and as a mother, wife and artist.

I love my family. What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for my husband, kids. I am thankful for god. I am thankful for sleep. I am thankful for art.I am thankful for water. I am thankful for air. I am thankful for music. I am thankful for hugs. I am thankful for days without homework. I am thankful when I just go out with my family. I am thankful for fairytales. I am thankful for ebooks. I am thankful for Zazzle to allow me to create. I am thankful when my husband cooks.

My art this is my whimsical art lately. These are what I called little known Fairy tales. There are more coming. One I am tweaking and another.

World’s Worst Cupcakes

Its getting closer to Halloween. I made the World's worst Cupcakes the other day. Okay maybe not the world’s worst but Carlo’s Bakery and Georgetown Cupcake won’t be hiring me any time soon. These cupcakes were little indented crispy pucks. I poured wells of colored corn syrup which softened them a bit. The frosting was off but not bad. I couldn’t find my go too frosting recipe and the recipe I used had too little fat. They did look like Halloween cupcakes but not in a good way. One my kids loved the cupcakes but I think she just like the frosting and well of colored corn syrup.
